Some people like to spend their weekends to go outside, jogging at city’s park, shopping at malls, or going to recreational places. But if you are too tired to leave your house, and decide to stay home on the weekend, there are still exciting things to do.
Revisiting old-time memories
In this era, technology has directed us to store photos digitally. Surely we can store hundreds, if not thousands of photos, in our gadget or cloud storage. But don’t you think it severely lacks romanticisation.
Try to find your old photo albums and take notes of your thought. What memory comes up on your mind when you see the little version you? The old printed photos of your grandmother, or siblings? Writing those memories down is healthy for your mind. Try to write the details, and emotions that you feel the strongest.
Besides the nostalgic sensation you can get, such activity may train your vocabulary and language skill.
Catching up with the movies you have missed
Or if you do not have photo albums, watching old movies can be an alternative for the weekend. Action, Sci-fi, or horror movies can be cliche, so try to watch a documentary instead. Maybe the story can inspire you to face the upcoming Monday?
Doing a marathon of movie series can also be a good idea. Watching all the episodes of a series’ season enables you to feel more immersed in the story.
Also, when everyone seems to look for new movies shown in the cinema, don’t you think it is going to be interesting to visit the 1980s’ movies? The special effects are hilarious and fun to watch.
A cup of chocolate and warm blanket
If both ideas above do not interest you, then perhaps you need a real rest during the weekend. But before going deep in your slumber, try to light up some scented candles. The ones with therapeutic lavender, or sandalwood aroma, will help you more relaxed. Also, do not forget to have a cup of warm chocolate.
Turn off your gadgets too. Gadgets have been the culprit for sleep deprivation and depression because it can distract you during the night. If you still have works to do or other things that require you to get engaged with your gadgets, then do it and finish it as soon as possible. Do not let the thought of deadline wake you up.
And if you live in a big city, consider turning off all the light sources in your house. Big cities are notorious with their overly bright lighting, and those who get the exposure are susceptible to sleep deprivation.
Do yourself a favor; you deserve a good rest.
