The Features to Look For in a Coworking Space

Working not in a typical office seems to be the latest trend in the professional world. Google may have been the pioneer of setting up their office unconventionally. They have sleeping pods, a snack buffet, and even gym equipment in their office. Soon after that, people began to realize that workers can give their best performance if their working place is not boring.

Check JustCo, for example. The architectural design there is so relaxed and casual. Anyone who works there won’t feel like they are in an office at all, but at home. Now, here are other features you should look for in a coworking space:

Security

A good coworking space uses access cards and 24/7 active CCTV cameras. Also, lockers with keys can be a very useful feature, especially if you rent the coworking space for several months. It will be cumbersome to bring home some of your stuff. And it’d be better if you leave them in the locker. But without a proper security system, such an action will be risky.

Moreover, you should look if the WiFi in the place is secured or not. The password has to be changed routinely, and the router must follow the latest update.

Meeting Rooms

The open concept and creative interior are indeed the main appealing features of a coworking place. But at some point, you will need to conduct a meeting with your crew. And it can be troublesome if the coworking space does not have a meeting room. And if it is available, check if there is a projector, speaker system, and a whiteboard. These items may sound conventional, but you are going to need them still. Also, if the coworking space looks crowded, there should be at least two or three meeting rooms so that everyone has the opportunity to use them.

Business Address

Some coworking offices may look like a regular coffee shop with only upgraded Internet access. And they are arguably the most affordable type of coworking space. However, you’d better apply for the one that requires membership because it usually gives you the benefit of business address as well. If you are a freelancer, or if you run a small business consisting of three or five people, having a business address can get you the opportunities you have never thought to be possible before.

Cleaning Service

No one feels comfortable working in a dirty place. Therefore, you should check if your coworking space has adequate cleaning standards. For full access, you will usually have to pay around $300 to $500 per month. That is a considerable amount of money. And thus, you deserve to get a clean coworking office.

Relevant Amenities

Some coworking offices may have too much entertainment, while some others may lack such a facility. You are the one who knows the people you are working with. If they can be easily distracted, then you’d better use a coworking space with standard amenities, such as a pantry, coffee makers, snacks, etc., instead of the ones that have PlayStation corner or home theater systems.
